I am a homeschooling mother of 5 crazy girls. My oldest spent her first few years of school in a traditional public school classroom. About halfway through elementary I decided I wanted to homeschool. My other kids have only ever homeschooled.
When people ask what my homeschool style is, I usually respond with “Divergent”. One of my good friends describes it as grocery cart shopping, taking what works from each of the styles.
I believe kids learn so much through play, but that they are also capable of focused learning. I believe that different kids are able to tackle different things at different ages and stages, much like toddlers, but that they are often able to do much more than they think. I believe that if you can help your children become lovers of learning they will seek out new things to learn and even enjoy it.
